A religion of convenience In an alluring church Painted red, painted yellow Disconnected from the challenge of nature Further they sink into an abyss Of comfort and satiation Until the pillow can't hold their weight The glistening so bright and welcoming But it masks the slow poison It's a fountain of aging Everyone says "come on in, the water is fine" In the glossy shrines cut with thousands of knives Brings the death to the body temple Before it's due time Turn my back and walk away From the circling vultures above that place Then I glimpse a rare blue sky Kept in my mind I still got time...

Black beans......stored for so long Suddenly......gleam like gold Everybody's ready but no one knows why No one knows what awaits this summer in the city Everybody's ready but no one knows why Everybody's ready for the slumber in the city A waitress in a deep sleep In a booth she usually serves In a deep deep sleep Which she richly deserves Her aluminum crown......gleams like gold Time for once to sing that song That's been brewing in her heart For far too long When she awakes from vivid dreams and stares at a still world or so it seems Then she sings..... Everybody's ready but no one knows why No one knows what awaits this summer in the city Everybody's ready but no one knows why Everybody's ready for the slumber in the city

All the hidden minutia Behind an artificial fog But the deja vu's become More easy to decipher and unravel..... Your eyes..... Shed your character armor Begun with a slight crack and unravel..... Your eyes seem to glow Await the swollen river To soak the barren canvas And put an end to this To this lifeless torpor and unravel..... Your eyes seem to glow Await the swollen river To take us away To take us away now From this lifeless torpor Take us away Take us away and unravel..... Your eyes seem to glow

One last road trip within this strange world To acquire skills to break free of its hold Then it's off to the parallel world Forever! A denizen in the parallel world would you.... Dwell with me We are free Dwell with me Stormy seas forever in turmoil Only more dissonant as time goes by Churned on and on and on by the loyal members Loyal members of the eternal coverup So it's off the island for one last shipwreck! Off to the island for one last shipwreck! To my realm of dignity and there's no looking back Don't want to be alone but I want to be free would you.... Dwell with me We are free Dwell with me Dwell with me Raindrops on my window of my lifeboat Reflecting sparkles of light which resembles The stars in the sky and blessings in disguise The stars in the sky and blessings in disguise Dwell with me

Are you smiling or are you sad? Easy to find the answers by shedding the mask Are you at ease or are you in pain? Easy to find the answers by shedding the mask I want to see you smile and thus see you heal No more restraints Your art's essential, creation's your course It's a fundamental wave of your life force Anti-human orders with no reason or resource As they take away the water from the horse I want to see you smile and thus see you heal No more restraints Your smile is essential Your art is essential Your music is essential Your beauty is essential Your love is essential The Truth is essential Gatherings are essential Reason is essential Loving embrace essential Nature is essential Stay human This is what is to be a human I want to see you smile and thus see you heal No more restraints....no more restraints Stay human

Terlingua 03:03
The pulse of the magic mountains Realigning the waves of my soul To a place they belong And it's there where I will ride I feel more alive In the Ghost town Then amongst a populated city Where everyone's head is down Where these expressionless and hypnotized folks Who've been stripped of who and what they are Go to the cleansing desert Go to mountains, the rivers below and Drink from the blessed river Then you'll know Break the chains of doubt and fear The hero braves through tainted fields Moves onward a stronger man To a destination you belong Terlingua An honest darkness Terlingua Reveals all the stars Terlingua The spirit is cleansed Terlingua, Terlingua Wherever I roam 4 3 2

Coracle 05:25
Drift on a coracle Through a narrowing stream of consciousness anchored to cumbersome numbers whose speed keeps you occupied But the calm.....picks the lock The calm.....picks the lock Summer evaporates As leaves start falling with messages for the guardians of the threshold's gate Testing one......two.......three.... (you can go) A never-ending scroll Unfurls a little more Drift on a coracle Through a widening stream Opening up... Opening up... To a limitless sea And all those thoughts that brought you down All those thoughts you watch them drown (in a limitless sea) And all those thoughts that brought you down All those thoughts you watch them drown (in a limitless sea) All those thoughts you watch them drown (in a limitless sea) All those thoughts that brought you down All those thoughts you watch them drown ...in a limitless sea

about

The title "4...3...2..." was chosen not only to suggest some sort of countdown towards a new era (hopefully one more natural, free and humane as opposed to what is being forced upon us by the propagandists of untruth), but also because all of the songs on this album were tuned at A=432 hertz (rather than the standard A=440 hertz) as an experiment. The only thing I can honestly conclude is that it felt good playing my guitar and other instruments at this frequency. Not the most scientific conclusion, but to quote Steve Kilbey of The Church "These instruments have no way of measuring this feeling...can never cut below the floor or penetrate the ceiling".

Also, while in the midst of recording this album, I took a trip to Terlingua, TX to attend a workshop where I learned how to make aircrete. It was a great workshop with great like-minded people in a beautiful and inspiring locale (hence track 7 on this album). On my last day there just before leaving to drive home to Pittsburgh, I realized that the area code of Terlingua was.....wait for it......432!!! I'm afraid I don't subscribe to any coincidence theories. This was synchronicity!!!

about

Brett Alexander Boye Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

With over 30 years of songwriting, Brett Alexander Boye would like to think he's evolved and learned a thing or two. His music is an attempt to find deep meaning and truth within a bizarre world ruled by untruth. His solo albums do derive from a wide range of influences like The Church, David Bowie, Mark Knopfler, Rob Pollard, Sigur Ros and others but always seeks to create something original. ... more
