about

This song under normal circumstances would be considered a nice, melodic, acoustic "middle-of-the-road" type song about what it truly is to be human. However, within the context of this rona nonsensical shutdown, it is about as "punk rock" and anti-establishment as it gets despite it being such a gentle acoustic finger-picking song. I, like many others, believe this is a spiritual war for humanity itself. At a workshop I recently attended, one of the attendees had to leave a day or so early and after we wished each other good luck on our future projects and whatnot, we said our goodbyes and he said to me "Stay Human" and that really stuck with me and thus why it's sung and stated at the end of this song.

STAY HUMAN!

lyrics

Are you smiling or are you sad?
Easy to find the answers by shedding the mask
Are you at ease or are you in pain?
Easy to find the answers by shedding the mask

I want to see you smile and thus see you heal
No more restraints

Your art's essential, creation's your course
It's a fundamental wave of your life force
Anti-human orders with no reason or resource
As they take away the water from the horse

I want to see you smile and thus see you heal
No more restraints

Your smile is essential
Your art is essential
Your music is essential
Your beauty is essential
Your love is essential
The Truth is essential
Gatherings are essential
Reason is essential
Loving embrace essential
Nature is essential

Stay human

This is what is to be a human

I want to see you smile and thus see you heal
No more restraints....no more restraints

Stay human
